Many Celtic fans have flocked to the latest tweet that club legend Chris Sutton recently relayed on social media.
Sutton recently tweeted about Celtic’s 2-1 loss to Ferencvaros in the second qualifying round of the Champions League.
Sutton described it as a ‘bad night’ for the Bhoys and said that they have ‘no excuses’ for getting knocked out of the Champions League. He ended the tweet by saying ‘fail to prepare, prepare to fail’.
The game saw Ferencvaros take the lead through David Siger’s strike early on. Ryan Christie equalised in the second half of the tie before Tokmac Nguen’s 75th-minute strike sealed Celtic’s fate (as per BBC Sport).
Sutton’s tweet about this game caught the attention of many Celtic fans, who made their feelings clear about it. Some of them seemed annoyed at Neil Lennon.
Sorry Chris. There’s one person to blame here and it’s Lennon. Enough quality in that squad to beat them. Nearly £9 million pound in two strikers sat on the bench until 75 minutes

Is Neil Lennon to be blamed for Celtic's loss to Ferencvaros?
Yes, he messed it up
No, not his fault
Lennon can go for me anytime. Back to that tip tap garbage which is great if its quick but no use at our pace. Painful to watch really. Finish the season with 2 upfront playing well start this one lone striker. Start tonight no striker what next

Lennon got the team selection and tactics totally wrong. He has to take responsibility for this

A club like no other. We save hard all year round to pay for our season tickets. Lawwell should go. Messed about 3 years in a trot bringing in players. Each Time it’s cost the club money in champions league. Personally i feel short changed.

This is the third time in a row that Celtic have failed to make it to the group stages of the UEFA Champions League.
While Ferencvaros have knocked them out this season, Cluj knocked them out last season and AEK Athens eliminated the Hoops before they could qualify for the group stages in the 2018/19 season.
While that is certainly disappointing, some other Celtic fans also made their frustration very clear.
Lennon seemed to think it would be a walk over, was a Ronnie Deila 2nd season European performance again and not been that great a start to the season. Team looks clueless and this new keeper a miatake waiting to happen.

Another nail in the coffin to strengthening our team, who with CL potential would join us now…..Celtic are failing to look at the big picture. CL is were all players want to be, and fans

Some of these Celtic fans are clearly fuming at Neil Lennon, while some seem pretty angry at the club’s performance on Wednesday.
The fact that the Hoops haven’t reached the group stage of the Champions League over the last three seasons perhaps makes fans even more agitated.
They were knocked out of the UEFA Europa League by Copenhagen in the Round of 32 of the competition last season. Valencia had knocked them out of the Europa League in the Round of 32 in the 2018/19 season as well.
So it is understandable why Celtic fans aren’t happy at all. Their recent failures in European competition don’t reflect well on them.
