Many Celtic fans have been talking about the latest news update linking them with a move for Atletico Madrid’s Rodrigo Riquelme.
Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo (via The Daily Record) have recently reported that Riquelme is now ‘set’ to leave Los Rojiblancos and the Hoops ‘have asked’ to sign him. The report claims that Atleti are listening to offers for the 20-year-old, whose current deal at the club runs out in 2021.
This update was relayed on Twitter by the Daily Record themselves and many Celtic fans flocked to this transfer news. They had different things to say about the 20-year-old.
Would never happen

Do you want Celtic to sign Riquelme?
Yes, I'd like that
No, we shouldn't sign him

Lennon said yesterday he’s looking for a winger. Would be some coup if we pulled this off – if there’s actually anything in it https://t.co/cSzfKTdDoN

Riquelme is a right-winger by trade, but he can also play as a left-winger. He has made only two appearances for the Atletico first-team over the years but has made 23 appearances for the club’s B team, scoring five goals and picking up two assists (as per Transfermarkt).
Some other Celtic fans also made their opinion clear about the club’s chase of the Spaniard.
Apparently Lawwell phoned the player and said: “Mon’ Roddey. Fancy it?” ?? https://t.co/Gc2hMf8GvV

While some Celtic fans would like to see the winger at Parkhead, others refuse to believe the news update.
The Hoops have loaned out Marian Shved to Belgian club KV Mechelen. Because of that, they are a bit short in the right-wing position and James Forrest is the only player whose preferred position is right-wing. So the Hoops might need to add some extra depth to that spot this summer.
Since Riquelme seems to be leaving Atletico, it might be easy to sign him this summer. So this may prove to be a smart move by the Hoops.
