Scottish midfielder and podcast pundit Paul Slane has recently discussed the situation surrounding Rangers’ Colombian striker Alfredo Morelos.

Following the Gers’ recent 2-0 victory over Kilmarnock, Steven Gerrard admitted that Morelos “made it easy” for him to leave the striker out of the matchday squad (per BBC).

As stated in the BBC’s report, the 24-year-old frontman has been the subject of an unsuccessful £16m bid from Ligue 1 outfit LOSC Lille.

A recent report from the Daily Record went as far as to state that the Colombian has been ‘officially declared as unfit for purpose’.

So, in the latest episode of the Open Goal podcast, Slane discussed the situation regarding Morelos and shared what he has heard on the striker.

Rangers fan? We bet you can't get 100% in this Rangers 2019/20 season quiz. First up, which French side did Rangers beat at Ibrox 4-0 in a pre-season friendly?

He said: “I’ve heard from sources that, in training, he’s been an absolute disgrace.

“[He’s been] not trying at all, walking about, overweight. Get him out the club – Rangers certainly don’t need a man like that this season.

“To be fair, when you look back at his Rangers career, he’s been excellent and I’ll always say that but his behaviour since he’s [come] in has been a disgrace.

“He’s let Rangers down every season and he’s continued to do it again. So, I would get rid of him now.”

TIF Thoughts…

As can be seen in what Slane had to say, from what he has heard, Morelos has been a “disgrace” in training and he believes that the club should now be looking to ship him out.

Should Rangers be looking to sell Alfredo Morelos this summer?

No, he needs to stay

No, he needs to stay

Yes, he needs to leave

Yes, he needs to leave

Presumably, these issues in training which Slane discussed are what “made it easy” for Gerrard to leave the Colombian out against Kilmarnock.

With the 24-year-old attacker having bagged an impressive 79 goals and 31 assists in 142 appearances during his time with the Gers (per Transfermarkt), it seems likely that he will be difficult to replace if he does leave Ibrox.
