Cameron Bell, Martyn Ramsay and Kevin Armstrong spent some time talking about Rangers’ 3-0 midweek win over St. Johnstone during the latest edition of the Heart and Hand podcast. Bell was full of praise for Borna Barisic during the show.

Barisic scored the opening goal of Wednesday’s game and he went on to provide the assist for Gers’ second. According to WhoScored, the left-back earned an impressive overall rating of 8.87 from his performance against St. Johnstone. This is the best rating that any player received from WhoScored in this fixture.

The Croatian left-back has recently been linked with a move to Leeds United, who are set to play in England’s top flight for the first time in 16 years during the 2020/21 campaign, and during this recent edition of the Heart and Hand podcast, Bell shared that he believes Barisic ‘justified’ all of the speculation surrounding his future with the assist that he provided for Ryan Kent to score against St. Johnstone.

The podcast host said: “Borna has been attracting some attention from down south – Leeds rumouring to be offering something in the region of about £8m or so – and he justified some of that attention and speculation by setting up the second goal.

“Just a lovely, delicious cut-back. Probably went about 25 yards on his own, pinpoint to Ryan Kent in the box.”

TIF Thoughts…

According to WhoScored, Barisic is Rangers’ joint-second-highest rated player for the 2020/21 Premiership campaign at present and considering the significant role that he played in the Glasgow-based club’s midweek win, it mightn’t be too surprising that Bell was full of praise for him and shared that he feels the left-back ‘justified’ the attention that he is allegedly receiving from Leeds United.

However, with Rangers hoping to win their first Premiership title since the 2010/11 season this term, we believe that it would be difficult for the Whites to prise the in-form left-back from Ibrox in the current transfer window.
