A Christopher Jullien interview featured on a recent edition of the BBC’s Sportsound Scottish Football podcast and the Celtic defender spent some time talking about the Hoops’ captain Scott Brown during the interview.

35-year-old Brown is a Hibernian academy product but he has been a Celtic player since joining the club for £5.94m back in the summer of 2007. The current Hoops captain has made 567 appearances for the Glasgow-based club thus far in his career, scoring 45 goals and providing 60 assists. The midfielder also ‘set a new record for appearances by a Scottish footballer in European competition’ back in July 2017.

Starting with an easy one - which club did Celtic sign Moussa Dembele from?

With all of that in mind, it may be fair to say that the 10-time Scottish Premiership-winner has earned himself a prominent place in the Hoops’ history books throughout his time at the club.

Jullien, who has only been at Parkhead since last summer, talked about Brown and the possibility that he will go on to manage Celtic one day during a recent interview that featured on the BBC’s Sportsound Scottish Football podcast and the Frenchman was full of praise for the Hoops captain during the interview.

The centre-back was asked: “Can you see [Brown] going on to become a manager here at Celtic one day?”

He replied: “Definitely. I think he can be everything in this club. He is just the spirit, everything. I never had a captain like this and he will definitely be in my memory for a long time.

“If he has [had] this impact on me and [I’ve] just [been] here for one year, I can’t imagine [the impact he’s had] for the club, it’s been so much time he’s here, he just gives everything on the field, but outside too, so I can see him everywhere.”

TIF Thoughts…

As can be seen in what Jullien had to say about Brown during this interview, it’s clear that the Celtic captain has made a positive impact on Jullien since the Frenchman moved to Parkhead.

Brown’s former Hoops teammate Joe Ledley praised the Celtic captain’s passion in the past, describing him as ‘the best captain [he’s] ever had’ and considering that Brown is known to be passionate and has been at Parkhead for so long, it may be understandable why a player who is newer to the club, such as Jullien, would find value in playing alongside a character like Brown.
