The Express and Star reporter Joe Edwards has been discussing the development of Wolverhampton Wanderers star Adama Traore.

During the 2018/19 Premier League season, the Spaniard picked up an uninspiring 6.59/10 average rating. However, during the 2019/20 term, he delivered a stellar 7.49/10 average rating in the league (per WhoScored).

The vast improvement between the two seasons has left a number of big-name clubs eyeing a move for the 24-year-old attacker (per ESPN).

In the latest episode of the E&S Wolves Podcast, though, Edwards aired his belief that Traore would be better suited to staying at Molineux this summer.

To kick-off this quiz on Nuno Espirito Santo on the hard side, which club was his first game on the touchline at Molineux against?

He said: “I do think Traore would benefit from at least another year at Wolves. As good as he has been and as devastating he is at his best, I don’t think he’s ready-made for a proper top club, yet.

“Wolves want to try and move into that bracket themselves, but I don’t see him getting into Liverpool’s starting front three, for example. I don’t see him unseating [Sadio] Mane or [Mohamed] Salah.

“Even if he went to Manchester City, I think he’d be in and out of the team, as he has been at Wolves, really, over the past several weeks.

“So, I think he would benefit from another year and in terms of his performance, I think you can’t argue that his shoulder issue [hasn’t] played on his mind.”

TIF Thoughts…

As can be seen in what Edwards had to say, he clearly believes that the Spanish attacker would be better suited to another season with the Old Gold.

Should Adama Traore stay at Wolves for another season to continue his development?

No, he should go while he can

No, he should go while he can

Yes, he should do another season

Yes, he should do another season

Looking at the progression of his average rating between the 2018/19 season and the 2019/20 term under Nuno Espirito Santo’s guidance, it is clear to see why the journalist believes Traore should stay.

However, if a club like Manchester City, Juventus or Barcelona come knocking with a big offer, it may seem likely that only Traore knows if he will stay or go.
