This comes after Horncastle recently made an appearance on The Totally Football Show with James Richardson to look back at the midweek European fixtures.

To kick-off this quiz on Nuno Espirito Santo on the hard side, which club was his first game on the touchline at Molineux against?

After being asked if he thinks Nuno Santo could walk out of the club after they were defeated by Sevilla in the quarter-finals of the Europa League on Tuesday, Horncastle shared his thoughts on the possibility.

He said: “I think Wolves will be hoping that that isn’t the case for the obvious reasons, but also, I think, with seasons due back, certainly pre-seasons due back in only a couple of weeks, I think it’s not an ideal situation.

“A, for you to lose a manager, B, for a new manager like Nuno, say if he wants to go elsewhere, try his hand at a ‘bigger club’, then he’s not going to have a lot of time to talk to the board and say ‘I need these players, go [and] get me them’.

“Also, I mean, he is in a pretty ideal situation because of the synergy that there is between his agent and Fosun at Wolves, he’s not going to find that elsewhere unless he goes to another club in that kind of mould.”

The 46-year-old took over at Wolves back in July 2017, since then, Nuno Santo has gone on to take charge of 157 matches at the Midlands club across all competitions in which he has managed to rack up a points-per-game total of 1.8 (per Transfermarkt).

The 2019/20 Premier League season saw Nuno Santo guide his team to a seventh-place finish in the league table on 59 points, just underneath Tottenham Hotspur on goal difference.

After 38 league games, Wolves won 15, drew 14 and lost nine of them throughout the campaign.

Nuno Santo’s current contract at Wolves doesn’t run out until the end of June next year, so it will be interesting to see if he extends his time at the Midlands club beyond then or not.
