West Ham United insider @ExWHUemployee has revealed the latest on striker Jordan Hugill.

The Hammers secured the services of the frontman in January 2018 for a fee of £9.18m from Preston North End (per Transfermarkt).

However, the 28-year-old striker has only gone on to make three appearances for the Irons in which he neither scored a goal nor assisted one for a teammate (per Transfermarkt).

Hugill spent the 2019/20 season on loan with Queens Park Rangers, where he was able to net a respectable tally of 15 goals and one assist in 41 appearances.

In the latest episode of The West Ham Way Podcast, @ExWHUemployee revealed the latest on the English attacker.

To kick-off this quiz on David Moyes on the hard side, which club was his first game on the touchline at the London Stadium against?

He said: “Another player that we’ll try and get rid of is Hugill. I think QPR want to sign him on loan again.

“It could [be feasible to use him in a deal for Eberechi Eze], but most clubs are going to struggle to sign Hugill on a permanent basis because [of] his wages.

“Again, he’s on £35,000-£40,000 [per week], so, in terms of those wages, you need a Premier League club to come in for him, really.

“A Premier League club’s not going to sign Jordan Hugill because he’s not proven in the Premier League.

“West Ham won’t play him in the Premier League even though we need a striker. So, in terms of him, he’ll probably go on loan again.”

TIF Thoughts…

As can be seen in what the in-the-know pundit had to say, he clearly believes that there is little chance of Hugill leaving permanently this summer due to his high wages.

Do you think it was a mistake for West Ham to sign Jordan Hugill from Preston North End?

Yes, obviously

Yes, obviously

No, I don't

No, I don't

If they are able to ship the forward out on loan as @ExWHUemployee suggests will happen, then hopefully, for the Hammers, the club that take him are able to pay a large chunk of his weekly wage.
