In-the-know reporter @ExWHUemployee has been discussing the transfer funds that West Ham United will have available this summer.

During the 2019/20 season, the Hammers sunk a whopping £108.18m into incoming transfers and sealed the arrival of eight players permanently (per Transfermarkt).

This summer, the club has already forked out £14.58m to secure the permanent arrival of Tomas Soucek from Slavia Praha (per Transfermarkt).

However, in the latest episode of The West Ham Way Podcast, @ExWHUemployee stated that funds are supposedly tight at the London Stadium.

To kick-off this quiz on David Moyes on the hard side, which club was his first game on the touchline at the London Stadium against?

He said: “The problem is, and whether it’s a genuine problem or not, this is whether you trust the board or not and I can imagine where most of our listeners would sit on this.

“The board are peddling the line that they have no money, they have no money for transfers, they have no money for wages. They may even be tempted, if they can’t transfer some of our big earners out, to loan them out.

“So, it could even be that Felipe Anderson goes out on loan rather than a permanent signing to get the wages off the books. The transfers are limited because we don’t have any money.

“Now, I do think we will find some money from somewhere because in all my experience of doing this as an ITK now, every window we are told, ‘We don’t have this money, we’ve got to sell this player, we don’t have this, we don’t have that.’

“And somehow, money is found.”

TIF Thoughts…

As can be seen in what the in-the-know reporter had to say, it is his belief that money is tight for transfers this summer, however, he still believes that funds will be found.

Do you believe the line that the West Ham board are peddling about them having no money?

No, it's definitely a lie

No, it's definitely a lie

Yes, I do believe them

Yes, I do believe them

The fact that the Hammers managed to drum up £14.58m to secure the permanent arrival of Soucek would suggest that the pundit is correct in his assumption.
