Speaking recently on The West Ham Way Podcast, @ExWHUemployee claimed that David Moyes is interested in a summer move for Manchester City defender, John Stones.

Stones, who arrived at City from Everton in what was a £50.04 million deal back in 2016, has played 133 games for City, helping his side to win two Premier League titles, one FA Cup and three League Cups along the way.

To kick-off this quiz on David Moyes on the hard side, which club was his first game on the touchline at the London Stadium against?

However, over the course of last season, the 26-year-old found his playing time limited, making just 16 appearances in the Premier League.

In addition to this, Pep Guardiola has made no secret of wanting to sign two new centre-backs this summer, leading to speculation regarding the future of the England international in Manchester.

@ExWHUemployee suggested that West Ham could offer Stones a way out of Manchester City while remaining in the Premier League, with David Moyes said to be a fan of the defender.

He said: “I shut down a story on John Stones that we’d bid £20 million for him. We hadn’t bid anything for John Stones – even if we approach him on loan it’s going to be tricky with his wages.

“However, I can say that David Moyes does want to sign John Stones. He has a list of centre-backs that he wants to sign. On that list is John Stones as one of the favourites – alongside Phil Jones of Manchester United, who he’s also worked with.”

TIF Thoughts…

As such, it would appear that, while it may be a difficult signing due to the wages of Stones at City, David Moyes is indeed keen on bringing the £27 million-rated man to the London Stadium this summer, which, in our opinion, would be a very good signing for West Ham.
