On the latest episode of The Extra Inch podcast, Chris Miller, Nathan Clark and Bardi have been discussing some of the latest goings-on at Tottenham Hotspur, reflecting on Spurs’ start to pre-season and answering questions regarding tactics and transfers from fans of the show.

One topic of discussion on the recent episode, which was titled: ‘We’re back for a pre-season round-up‘, was the performance of Heung-min Son in the recent 3-0 friendly win against Ipswich Town. The South Korean international notched two first-half goals for Jose Mourinho’s side and certainly seemed to impress those on the podcast with his display.

Which player scored Spurs' first goal of the Premier League campaign?

Here’s what Bardi had to say about the former Bayer Leverkusen man’s performance on the podcast:

“I would like to give a shoutout to Son. Sometimes you take a player for granted and forget just how good they are. Son was incredible, you know sometimes at the end of the season footballers go on the pitch with their kids and they start nutmegging their kids, that’s what Son was like out there. He was playing with literal farmers and he was just running rings around them. He’s just levels above anybody else.”

TIF Thoughts…

Bardi clearly seems to think that Son was the best player on the pitch against Ipswich Town and perhaps has high hopes that the 28-year-old can deliver another excellent season for the Lilywhites. During the most recent Premier League season, the winger contributed an impressive 11 goals and 10 assists in just 30 top-flight appearances, which saw him average a superb 7.24 rating (per WhoScored).

Do you think Son will be a key player once again next season?

He will perhaps prove to be vital for Jose Mourinho’s side if the North London club are to re-establish themselves as a top-four club in the 2020/21 campaign.
