Spurs fans on Twitter have been reacting to the latest reported news on former Liverpool ace Philippe Coutinho, which suggests that the Lilywhites are now the most likely side to sign the Brazilian this summer.
According to the Daily Mail (via TranSPURS), the north London club are ‘probably leading the race’ for the 28-year-old, despite interest from fellow Premier League clubs, Arsenal, Chelsea, Leicester City and Newcastle United. The report also suggests that the midfielder’s agent, Kia Joorabchian, has admitted that there is ‘genuine interest’ from several top-flight clubs, with a move back to the Premier League certainly looking on the cards.
The former Inter man impressed in his last spell in England with Liverpool; making 201 appearances for the Reds and contributing 54 goals and 45 assists in all competitions (per Transfermarkt). This led to Barcelona paying an extraordinary £130.5 million to bring him to the club in January 2018 (per Transfermarkt), but it seems as if the Catalan side are keen to put that behind them and recoup as much of that fee as they can this summer, which is unsurprising when you consider the financial problems they are currently facing.

One Spurs fan suggested that Coutinho and Giovani Lo Celso, who is pictured alongside the Brazilian in TranSPURS’ tweet, playing together would be ‘unbelievable’.

Id love this to be true. A front 4 of coutinho, lo celso, son and kane would frighten every defence in the league.
