Many Tottenham Hotspur fans have flocked to a tweet from @HotspurRelated which relays a report from The Athletic concerning Juan Foyth.
According to Charlie Eccleshare, the centre-back ‘has not yet sat down to discuss his future with the club‘ but for ‘the moment he wants to stay and fight for his place‘. Spurs paid £11.7m to bring the player to North London from Estudiantes back in August 2017 (as per Transfermarkt.co.uk), however, last season he was limited to just four appearances in the Premier League.
The 22-year-old has recently been linked with a move away, with Leeds United said to be one of those interested in the £12.15m-rated Argentina international.
Here is how a sample of the club’s fans have responded to the post regarding the defender.
Not the greatest player we’ve got but if he’s showing this sort of hunger I want him staying at my club

He could be a decent backup option for right back and will count as home grown in a year

Would you like to see Juan Foyth stay at Spurs?
Yes
No
It’s clear not all of these supporters are convinced that Foyth is capable of playing for Jose Mourinho’s side regularly as many shared their opinions on the Argentine defender.
I think Foyth will come good needs to be managed by Mourinho full season.

I think it would be great if he stayed. Could be our RB next season (potentially better than Aurier!)

Get him out either on loan or full sale. I just don’t want him at spurs this season. He needs to make way for incomings.

Better him to stay than Aurier imo

Foyth has represented Argentina at right-back on a number of occasions, most notably during the 2019 Copa America (as per Transfermarkt.co.uk) and therefore he could potentially establish himself in the Spurs side as a full-back rather than a central defender.
