Many Tottenham Hotspur supporters have flocked to Twitter in order to respond to a post from their new signing Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.
Earlier this week, the north London club announced the signing of the Danish midfielder for approximately £15m on a five-year deal (as per Sky Sports). The 25-year-old becomes Jose Mourinho’s first summer signing and arrives with plenty of Premier League experience.
Hojbjerg joined Southampton from Bayern Munich in 2016 in a deal reportedly worth £13.5m and has 109 appearances in the English top flight under his belt. During the 2019/20 campaign, his average performance rating in the league was 6.83/10 (via WhoScored.com), making him Ralph Hasenhuttl’s fifth-most consistent player.
The new Spurs man shared some images of himself posing with the club’s shirt and signing his contract and here is how a sample of the club’s faithful responded.

I’m telling you now the Premier League isn’t ready for this trio?
Signing Højbjerg allows Tanguy to have a free role like Celso to go forward and not do the dirty work he clearly doesn’t want to do, we will see Ndombele at his best next season imo.
We still need more though. pic.twitter.com/NbCec6gpXI

It’s clear from the above responses that these fans are pleased their club has managed to sign the Danish midfielder and one believes Hojbjerg’s arrival will bring the best out of Tanguy Ndombele next season.

During last season, Hojbjerg ranked first in the Premier League for possessions won in the middle third and seventh for possessions won in the attacking third, showing that he is also capable of pressing further up the field (as per Sky Sports). At £15m plus bonuses, in our view, this signing makes perfect sense for Spurs as they look to enhance their midfield.
