How well do you remember Heung-Min Son's time with Spurs? - The Lilywhites signed Son from which Bundesliga side?

Gold spent most of the episode going through different positions and talking about potential players that may or may not be joining Spurs in this transfer window.

One of the players that Gold cannot see joining Jose Mourinho’s side is Jack Grealish.

The Aston Villa captain was heavily linked with a move to Tottenham back in 2018, but Spurs would not pay the asking price.

Now he is valued at £36m, and it is said that Villa want £80m for the 24-year-old.

Gold discussed Grealish, but revealed that he can’t see him joining Tottenham this summer.

He said: “Jack Grealish [is] Spurs’ biggest, to me, disappointment in not pushing for a transfer probably other than Bruno Fernandes.

“I think Grealish really proved this season that in the Premier League, he’s absolutely ready for it, but I just think now that price, especially as Villa didn’t go down – it’s going to be humongous.

“I just wonder whether there are other clubs, perhaps others that are struggling with the homegrown stuff, who look at him, and I just think Spurs would be priced out now – which is crazy when you think they could have got him for £24-25m and now you’re looking at probably double that.”

So, Gold cannot see Grealish becoming a Tottenham player in this transfer window.

Do you think Spurs will go for Grealish?

TIF Thoughts…

Grealish has also been linked with Spurs in more recent times, but given his reported price tag, it seems that Mourinho’s men would be priced out of any move for Grealish, according to Gold.

He was superb for Villa as they just avoided relegation in the 2019/20 season as he earned an average rating of 7.23/10, scored eight goals and provided six assists (per WhoScored).

So, it is clear why Gold likes him and feels that Tottenham may rue the fact they missed out on him in 2018 given their current financial position.
