Supporters of Tottenham Hotspur have been reacting to a transfer report which has linked Manchester City with Harry Winks.

According to The Sun, Pep Guardiola wants to make a move to sign Spurs’ English midfielder.

Supposedly, the 24-year-old middleman is facing an ‘uncertain future’ under Jose Mourinho and Guardiola may offer the player a way out as he is a ‘serious admirer’ of him.

It is also stated that if the Manchester club can muster a bid of over £40m for Winks, then the midfielder will be allowed to leave the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

After this report was shared to Spurs fans on social media by Hotspur Related, lots of them aired their thoughts on it.

While The Sun’s report states that Winks’ future is ‘uncertain’ with Spurs, it does also suggest that Guardiola is ‘intrigued by the prospect’ of helping the player reach his full potential and that he is ‘very much a Pep player’.

If Manchester City bid £40m for Harry Winks, would you mind seeing him leave?

During the 2019/20 Premier League season, Winks made 31 top-flight appearances for Spurs in which he neither scored nor assisted (per WhoScored).

Furthermore, his weak average rating of 6.57/10 in the league left the midfielder as the 10th-worst performer to feature for the north London club (per WhoScored).

While the majority were in favour of keeping Winks, other Spurs supporters were not as keen on the idea of the 24-year-old middleman staying.

As can be seen in the responses from these Spurs fans, though, although some would be disappointed if the English midfielder left the club this summer, there are others who believe it could be a good move for all parties.
