Starting with an easy one how many points did Leeds end the season with?

One such player who came up in conversation was Brentford’s Said Benrahma.

The Algerian is valued at £9.45m by Transfermarkt and has been linked with a move to the Whites, and this what Hay had to say on the links to Benrahma:

“I don’t see Benrahma as being 100% straightforward, and it doesn’t feel to me at this stage, anyway, that there’s been any significant progress with that.”

Hay then revealed later on in the show the sort of price that Leeds believe they can sign Benrahma for.

He said: “There does seem to be a sense at Leeds that they can get Benrahma for perhaps a pretty reasonable fee of about £12-15m, rather than the big whack that you would expect, which was a surprise to me, but that’s certainly what they were hoping.”

So, it seems as if the Whites have not progressed with any deal for Benrahma, but they do believe that they can get him for a fee only slightly above his supposed market value.

Do you think Leeds could sign Benrahma for that little?

No, not a chance

TIF Thoughts…

There have been reports that Brentford are looking for £25m for the 25-year-old, and if Leeds could get him for as little as £12m, that could be considered quite a coup.

Benrahma was in scintillating form for the Bees in the 2019/20 season as he scored 17 goals and provided nine assists in 46 league games, earning himself an average rating of 7.49/10.

This rating would rank Benrahma in first place in the Whites’ squad, so it is no wonder that they are interested, and it will be intriguing to see if Leeds can get him for the price that Hay suggested.
