Many Tottenham Hotspur fans have flocked to a tweet that was recently posted by the club’s official Twitter account that included a link to an article from Spurs’ official website which shares some news regarding the club’s academy. 

This article explains that Tottenham’s ‘academy management and coaching structure has been confirmed ahead of the new season,’ with Dean Rastrick assuming ‘overall responsibility for the academy programme.’ 

This post also explains that former England international Chris Powell is joining the club to take up the ‘Head of Coaching’ role for U17 to U23 level and another former England international – Ryan Mason – will be taking up the role of ‘Head of Player Development’ at the academy. 

After this post from the club’s official website was shared by Spurs’ official Twitter account, plenty of Tottenham supporters flocked to their tweet to react to this news.

Many Tottenham supporters replied to this post to share congratulations for Powell and Mason, in particular, in response to this news.

Powell, who spent time at Crystal Palace, Derby County, Charlton Athletic, West Ham United, Watford and Leicester City during his playing career, is reportedly a Spurs fan

Meanwhile, Mason is himself a Spurs academy graduate and he made more appearances for Tottenham during his playing career than he made for any other club

With all of that in mind, it may be understandable why many Tottenham supporters are pleased to see the pair take up these new roles with the Lilywhites and it is nice to see Spurs fans react so warmly to this news about them both.
