Spurs fans on Twitter have been reacting to a transfer rumour linking them with a move for Arsenal ace Ainsley Maitland-Niles.
According to the Daily Mail (via The Spurs Web), the Lilywhites are plotting a swoop for the 22-year-old this summer, with the Gunners hoping to receive around £20 million for the Englishman.
This follows an article earlier this month from The Sun which claimed that Spurs were among Maitland-Niles’ potential suitors.
The fresh report suggests that Jose Mourinho’s side have been continued to monitor his situation at the Emirates Stadium, and the Portuguese coach is keen to add a right-back to his ranks, having lost faith in Serge Aurier.
In the most recent season, the youngster made 20 appearances in the Premier League for Mikel Arteta’s side, the majority of which came at right-back, averaging a less than impressive 6.63 rating (per WhoScored).
However, with Kyle Walker-Peters having already departed the Lilywhites, and Aurier being heavily linked with a move to AC Milan, you can perhaps understand the reasoning behind Spurs’ reported interest this summer.
Would Maitland-Niles be a good signing for Spurs?
