Tottenham Hotspur journalist Bardi has been sharing his opinion on the possibility of Spurs defender Juan Foyth leaving the club this summer.

This comes after Bardi recently co-hosted an episode of The Extra Inch Podcast to go through a variety of topics related to the north London club.

How well do you remember Heung-Min Son's time with Spurs? - The Lilywhites signed Son from which Bundesliga side?

After it was recently reported that newly-promoted side Leeds United would be willing to pay £15 million for the Argentine this summer, Bardi shared his thoughts on this potential deal.

He said: “Maybe it doesn’t make much sense in terms of the player and his ability and everything else, but in terms of balancing the books and everything else, I think that’s a great bit of business – £15 million for a player who’s barely featured for us. I think we signed him maybe for just a couple of million pounds. It’s a great markup and yes, it’s sad that he hasn’t turned into like the next [Toby] Alderweireld, but I think it’s a lovely bit of business and I think and I hope he does really well [at Leeds].”

Foyth signed for Spurs back in the 2017 summer transfer window from Estudiantes for a fee of £11.7 million. Since then, the defender, who is currently valued at £12.15 million, has gone on to make just 32 appearances for the Lilywhites.

Would you be happy if Spurs sold Foyth for £15m this summer?

TIF Thoughts…

Foyth only made seven overall appearances for Spurs throughout the 2019/20 season, with injuries having played their part, so a move away from Spurs to a club where he can get regular playing time could be beneficial for the defender next season.

It will be interesting to see if Leeds go through with their reported pursuit of Foyth and whether or not Tottenham would be willing to let him go, taking into account that they have already said goodbye to Jan Vertonghen this summer.
