Many Tottenham Hotspur supporters have been responding to a recent tweet from Football.london’s Spurs correspondent, Alasdair Gold.
In the post, he reveals that the deals taking Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium from St. Mary’s and Kyle Walker-Peters the other way are edging towards their conclusions. He goes on to say that the difference in the fees for the two players remains £3m and that Jose Mourinho was keen to get his new midfielder in the door in time for pre-season.
Here is how some of the club’s faithful have been responding to the update on social media.

Alasdair confirmed it as well.

Spurs typically save money on late transfer deals but negatively impact results due to limited practice time. We need to break the cycle. Get the deal done early enough to participate in practice as his position is integral to the ball movement going forward. Requires teamwork

Have said this myself many times! What good is saving £2m here and there if it costs us a league position, or a trophy for that matter? Very frustrating to have the same experience every single year.

Could be the piece of the jigsaw we’ve been missing. Hopefully KWP will have a good career there. Wish him well.

Are you pleased to see Hojbjerg coming in?
Yes
No
Judging by the above responses, these Spurs fans are pleasantly surprised to learn their club are close to completing a deal so early on in the transfer window. Many continued to respond.
What a deal for Spurs!

So it appears Spurs are closing in on the £18m-rated Danish midfielder, formerly of Bayern Munich.
Hojbjerg was Southampton’s joint-fifth best performer throughout the 2019/20 campaign (via WhoScored.com).
The 25-year-old is said to be ‘strong’ in his ability to intercept balls in the middle of the park and therefore it can be argued he will improve the current Tottenham midfield in terms of their ability to win possession.
