Many Celtic fans have been talking about the latest news linking them with a move to sign former Charlton Athletic man Lyle Taylor.
Sky Sports recently reported that the Hoops are in talks with Taylor. They report that the striker was on the radar of Celtic’s Old Firm rivals, who have now signed both Kemar Roofe and Cedric Itten this week.
This update was recently relayed on Twitter by Hoops-related page Celticbible. Many Celtic fans flocked to this news and they made their negative opinion very clear about Taylor.
No thanks

Do you think signing Taylor will be a good move for Celtic?
No, that will be a bad move
Yes, I'd like that
Sometimes I hate the transfer window. https://t.co/y8zPJMhczY

Taylor had refused to play for Charlton post-lockdown in the 2019/20 season. His contract at the club ran out and he is currently a free agent. The likes of Swansea, West Bromwich Albion and Sheffield Wednesday were also linked with a move for the striker (as per Sky Sports).
Some other Celtic fans also had a negative opinion about Taylor and they expressed it in their own tweets.
Lyle Taylor refused to play for Charlton at the end of the season as he wanted away and didn’t want to get injured. Everyone deserves a chance but that’s not the type of player I’d want in a Celtic jersey. ??

In the 2019/20 season, Taylor had done well in front of goal for Charlton. He played 22 games in the Championship and racked up 11 goals and a single assist for the club (as per Transfermarkt).
In total, Taylor scored 36 goals and got 14 assists in 67 games in all competitions for Charlton. It shows that he can be a reliable goalscorer. He is a free agent currently, so he would be a low-risk signing and could add some extra depth to the Celtic frontline.
With Vakoun Bayo being linked with a move away from Celtic and Leigh Griffiths facing injury issues (BBC Scotland via CeltsAreHere), they might need another reliable goalscorer. Considering Taylor’s numbers, he could be the goalscorer that Neil Lennon might need.
