To get things started a rather easy one. Who scored Newcastle's first league goal of the season?

One player who came up was Patrik Schick, who has been named as the Toon’s top transfer target in a Daily Mail report.

However, it looks like there are some doubts about Newcastle signing the 24-year-old in this transfer window.

It seems that the Toon have tracked Schick for a long time, but Kennedy has doubts that Newcastle would spend £22m on the Czech Republic international.

He said: “The Patrik Schick one is an interesting one because he is a player that they’ve monitored for quite some time.

“It’s not one that’s just come up this summer; it’s been one that they looked at last summer, one they looked at in January as well.

“There are a lot of clubs interested in Patrik Schick, there’s been a lot of talk in transfer circles [in] regards [to] Bayer Leverkusen, and that could potentially be one that comes off, a return to RB Leipzig is not out [of] the question either.

“He’s a £22m striker according to the Daily Mail, are Newcastle United going to spend that in the current situation?

“I’ve got serious doubts they will, but I wouldn’t argue with it.”

Do you think Newcastle could sign Schick?

No, he will go somewhere else

TIF Thoughts…

Schick was on loan with RB Leipzig last season, and he scored ten league goals in 22 appearances, which is a good return, and it would have made him Newcastle’s top league goalscorer by four goals for the 2019/20 season.

So, you can see why they would want to buy the 24-year-old; however, their budget has been cut to £35m plus player sales, so are they going to blow a huge chunk of it on Schick?

Kennedy seemingly has his doubts that they would.

There are also reports that Schick is set to join Bayer Leverkusen, so, the Toon might have to move on from this one and look elsewhere.
