The Shields Gazette reporter Liam Kennedy has cast doubt over the supposed Newcastle United takeover bid from Bellagraph Nova Group (BNG).

According to the company itself, the Singapore-backed business is at an ‘advanced stage’ to take over the Toon and they have stated that they want to make a ‘huge investment’ in the club (via TalkSPORT).

Furthermore, BNG have stated that they have provided ‘a LOI (Letter of Intent)’ and also ‘proof of funds on August 10’.

So, in the latest episode of NUFC Matters on YouTube, Kennedy made a guest appearance and cast doubt over the supposed takeover bid.

To get things started a rather easy one. Who scored Newcastle's first league goal of the season?

He said: “The group themselves say they’re genuine, and we’ve got to take their word for it, in some ways. Will it pan out? I would be very doubtful that it will, simply because if you want to deal with Mike Ashley, you probably need somebody onside who knows how to deal with Mike Ashley.

“Coming in with a lowball bid, one paid on the back of that and that kind of thing’s a really difficult deal to strike with Mike Ashley. He’s not going to take to that too well.

“We’ve seen other people out there report he’s just not entertaining speaking to people who aren’t hitting his targets. That won’t get passed from Dentons to Mike Ashley, Justin Barnes, etc unless it hits a certain criteria – and that’s money.

“If they bid £320m, then I’m sure he would’ve found out about it straight away, but they’ve had to go down the media route and push it out there.”

TIF Thoughts…

As can be seen in what the journalist had to say, he is “very doubtful” that the supposed takeover bid from Bellagraph Nova Media will be successful.

Do you want the supposed Bellagraph Nova Group bid to be true?

However, only time will tell if it comes to fruition and supporters of Newcastle will just have to wait and see if it pans out.
