A lot of Newcastle United fans have replied to a post from Liam Kennedy that contains a link to a piece from Miles Starforth detailing the Toon’s bid for Dimitrios Giannoulis.
It is claimed that Steve Bruce is looking for a left-back, and the club have now made a bid for the 24-year-old Greece international.
Newcastle had Danny Rose and Jetro Willems on loan at the club last season and are assessing options for left-back and look like they want to bring Giannoulis to Tyneside.
This has drawn a reaction from these Toon fans who are underwhelmed.
Would this be a good signing?
Yes, he seems decent
No, we don't need him
Great we might finish 17th now

The 24-year-old has made seven appearances for Greece and in the 2019/20 season he made 44 appearances for PAOK in which he scored one goal and provided six assists from left-back.
The news of this bid has pleased these Toon fans who are actually pleased with this offer.
Top player from what I’ve seen….ok, YouTubed.
But looks a real talent.
Good crosser, gets into the box on occasion, pace, loves a tackle.
Let’s hope it happens. ?#NUFC

I’d actually be happy with this. Looks a good player and gets picked for the national team ahead of Liverpool’s new lad who cost like £13m.

We’ve needed a left back for ages so hopefully he can do the job then we can focus on getting a proven striker

Newcastle currently only have Matt Ritchie as a natural left-back with a few others also capable, but you can see why Bruce would want to bring in a left-back in this transfer window.
Giannoulis is valued at £4.05m by Transfermarkt, so the Toon’s bid of £4m is pretty close to his valuation and seems like a fair offer.
It is clear that the potential signing has divided the Toon’s fanbase with some keen to see this deal happen and others very underwhelmed.
It is unclear if PAOK have accepted or rejected the offer as of yet, but it seems as if Newcastle have at least put an offer in and are trying to add to their squad.
