A lot of Newcastle United fans have replied to a tweet from The Chronicle that contains a link to their live blog from Wednesday.
From here, there is a little snippet (20:30) from a report in the Daily Star which claims that, following Dwight Gayle’s injury, the Toon are looking to sign two strikers this summer.
This has drawn a reaction from these Newcastle fans who clearly have no faith in their club.
Targeting, but not signing either of them

I bet we are still looking for a striker on deadline day on loan only….they simply dont care and won’t spend cash

One Toon fan evidently didn’t rate this report.

Do you think Newcastle will get two strikers?
No, probably won't even get one
Yes, they will bring two in
Gayle went off injured during the Toon’s recent win over Crewe Alexandra, and it looks like it may be a bad knee injury for the former Crystal Palace man.
Before the game, Steve Bruce claimed that signing a striker might not be a priority for the Toon because Gayle was looking in good condition.
However, now with this injury, the Toon could be without their joint-second top league goalscorer from last season for a period of time.
Yoshinori Muto will also reportedly be allowed to leave the club and if they sell him, then that would leave Newcastle with just Andy Carroll and Joelinton as striking options for the time that Gayle is out injured.
This could be a problem, considering Joelinton was the only one out of those two to have scored a league goal last season, and he only got two.
This post continued to draw the attention of many Newcastle fans who cannot see their club signing a striker.
Targeting being the operative word here. We can target them and miss, much like our strikers last season. #nufc

No they are not

It is clear that many Toon fans are not convinced by this report and have no confidence in the club, so it is up to the Toon’s hierarchy to prove them wrong and bring in some forwards to boost Bruce’s squad.
