Ciaran Kelly has been speaking on the latest episode of the Everything is Black and White Podcast, discussing what he expects Premier League chief executive Richard Masters to do now that the proposed takeover of Newcastle United has collapsed.
Kelly discussed various topics mostly relating to the failed takeover, and offered this view on what Masters might do and what would surprise him if he continued to stay silent on the issue.
He said: “Masters will be in front of a camera at some point before the season starts; he’s going to be asked about [the takeover], if he says literally ‘no comment’ then that’s a surprise to me, I think there will surely be a little inkling in there.”
So, it seems as if Kelly thinks that at some point, Masters will provide some comment on this failed takeover, and he would be surprised if he provides no answers.

The proposed takeover by Amanda Staveley’s Saudi-backed consortium fell through last week when it was announced that the group had withdrawn its bid.
Following this, Staveley blamed the Premier League, while there is yet to be an official response from the PL.
A petition has been launched that now has over 90,000 signatures asking for an independent investigation into the takeover process, to which the PL has not responded either.
So, the pressure is growing, but as of yet, there is still no word from the authorities, and it seems as if Kelly is expecting Masters to say something in his next media appearance.
You would hope that considering he has refused to comment on this process in previous interviews, he would explain why the group pulled out now the matter has come to a conclusion.
However, given his silence throughout the process, we do not hold out much hope.
