After it was reported by Sport Witness that United are interested in signing the Welshman this summer, Ogden shared his thoughts on the likelihood of this potential move.

He said: “Man United look at a lot of players – they will have a list of 5, 6, 7, 8 maybe 10 players per position that they want to sign or want to keep an eye on and I’m sure David Brooks is on that list.

“I don’t think David Brooks will end up at Man United. There’s a big list of players that they want to sign and Jadon Sancho is at the top of it. I think if they miss out on six or seven targets, then David Brooks might become a target, but right now, I wouldn’t expect him at Old Trafford next season.”

Brooks signed to Bournemouth back in the 2018 summer transfer window from Sheffield United for a fee of £10.17 million. Since then, the 23-year-old has gone on to make 42 appearances for the Cherries, in which he has scored eight goals and provided five assists (per Transfermarkt).

Last season saw Brooks, who is currently valued at £18 million, make just nine Premier League appearances for Bournemouth as he spent the majority of the season out of action after having ankle surgery.

TIF Thoughts…

As Ogden mentioned in the video, United’s main transfer target this summer is Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho, however, if the club fail to sign the Dortmund winger, they could well turn their attention to Brooks if they feel a deal for Sancho could be out of their reach.
