Liverpool journalist Kristian Walsh has been talking about Reds midfielder Curtis Jones.
This comes after Walsh recently hosted an episode of the Liverpool Echo’s Blood Red Podcast to reflect on the Reds’ 2019/20 season.
On the topic of Jones, who made his Premier League debut for Jurgen Klopp’s side back in December, Walsh shared his thoughts on the 19-year-old.
He said: “I feel like he could become something really different at Liverpool and something that Liverpool’s midfield doesn’t have. He’s a player who will pick up spaces and I find that so much.
“He is somebody who drifts into space undetected, his movement’s really interesting and I think that’s something that Liverpool don’t actually have.
“Sometimes Curtis Jones is popping up in positions which you don’t really expect him to, and I think that’s really exciting for Liverpool. I think that might give them another dimension in certain games.”
After working his way through the youth system at Liverpool, Jones has made a total of 13 appearances for the Reds’ senior team in which he has managed to score three goals and provide one assist along the way (per Transfermarkt).

It’s great to hear that Walsh clearly has a lot of confidence in Jones and recognises what the teenager offers this Liverpool team on the pitch.
Hopefully, for Jones, who is valued at £4.5 million (as per Transfermarkt), he can continue to get some more appearances for Klopp’s side next season and secure his place as a regular in the squad.
With Adam Lallana recently leaving the Merseyside club for a move to Brighton & Hove Albion, perhaps Jones could be the man to fill the hole in the squad created by Lallana’s absence.
