Speaking recently on the Football Writers Podcast, Adrian Clarke claimed that Everton’s Moise Kean has been one of the worst signings of the season.

Since arriving at Everton from Juventus in what was a £24.75million deal last summer, Kean has gone on to make just six starts in the Premier League, with another 23 appearances coming as a substitute, scoring two goals and providing two assists, averaging a disappointing WhoScored rating of 6.32.

As a result of the Italian’s slightly concerning form, there have been rumours that he could be set for a move away from the club this summer, however, Everton manager, Carlo Ancelotti, has recently spoken of his plans to give Kean more game time next season, thereby ending most of the transfer speculation surrounding the 20-year-old.

However, tactical analyst Clarke recently stated his belief that Kean has been one of the worst pieces of business of the 2019/20 season, stating on the Football Writers Podcast:

“The other flop is someone that was tipped up as being an absolute bargain, and that’s Moise Kean at Everton. Young player, £25million, I think was [the] ballpark figure.

“Everyone thought ‘wow, what a steal that is’, but he’s had six starts, two goals, and looks a little bit lost at Everton. He’s way behind Richarlison and [Dominic] Calvert-Lewin in the pecking order.”

TIF Thoughts…

While it has indeed been a tough season for Kean, it should be remembered that he is still only 20-years-old, and has performed well before his move to Everton, scoring eight goals in 21 appearances for Juventus.

Would you be bothered if the Toffees sold Moise Kean in the next transfer window?

No, he can leave for all I care

Yes, we need to keep hold of him

As such, we are of the belief that Kean will come good at Goodison Park, and should be given a little bit of faith from Everton fans.
