LFC Daytrippers contributor Grizz Khan has dismissed the reports linking Liverpool with a move for Brazilian centre-forward Talles Magno.

According to a report from Yahoo Esportes (via Empire of the Kop), the Premier League champions made contact with the player’s current club Vasco da Gama in order to try and establish whether or not a transfer for the 18-year-old is ‘realistic’ this summer.

2018/19 season quiz: How many points did Jurgen Klopp's side accumulate in the Premier League?

Magno has made just 17 senior appearances for the Rio de Janeiro-based club, scoring two goals and providing one assist to date (as per Transfermarkt.co.uk). However, despite the fact he hasn’t played that much football yet, he is said to be one of Vasco’s ‘most-prized assets’.

Contrary to the aforementioned report, Khan believes there is no chance of the Anfield giants moving for the starlet this summer. When asked if there was any news with regards to the rumoured interest, this is what he had to say:

“There is no news, there is absolutely no chance we’re signing this guy. He’s part of the Kia Joorabchian network, we don’t deal with them, we don’t deal with him and also, he’s not very good in my opinion, either.”

TIF Thoughts…

Khan was adamant that a move for the striker is not going to happen and he clearly hasn’t been impressed by what he has seen of the player.

The podcaster also referred to the fact that he believes the player is represented by Kia Joorabchian, which in his view, would make it even less likely a deal will be agreed with Liverpool, with previous reports claiming that a close friend of the super-agent was trying to secure a move to Europe for the youngster.

Liverpool’s front three of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane scored a combined 57 times last season, so if the club were to move for Magno it would, in our view, very much be a transfer with the future in mind.
