Leeds United YouTuber Conor McGilligan has shared his thoughts on a potential transfer move from the Whites for Sheffield United midfielder John Lundstram.

This comes after McGilligan, who has a combined following of over 10,000 through YouTube and Twitter alone, shared a video on his Leeds-themed channel where he spoke about a range of transfer rumours concerning the newly-promoted side.

Starting with an easy one how many points did Leeds end the season with?

After it was recently reported that the Blades had put Lundstram on their transfer list after they had allegedly failed to agree a new contract with the midfielder, McGilligan shared his thoughts on a potential swoop for the Englishman from Leeds.

He said: “I would take John Lundstram. We’re clearly looking at another centre-midfielder, another defensive midfielder.

“I think he’s a really good player, did really well for Sheffield United last year, could we get him on a free? That could be something we’re looking at. That could be something that’s really viable as well.”

The 26-year-old, who is currently valued at £7.2 million, signed to Chris Wilder’s side back in the 2017 summer transfer window for a fee of £504k from Oxford United.

Since then, the Englishman has gone on to make 88 appearances for the club, in which he has managed to score eight goals and provide seven assists.

The 2019/20 Premier League season saw Lundstram make 34 league appearances for the Blades, scoring five goals and assisting three times.

Lundstram’s performances in those appearances earned him a season rating of 6.7/10 according to WhoScored.

TIF Thoughts…

If the reports of Lundstram’s potential exit from Sheffield United this summer are accurate and Leeds decide to make a move for the midfielder, they would be getting someone with recent experience of playing in the Premier League for a side who finished in ninth place last season.

Adding someone with this experience to their squad could be a smart move from Leeds as they prepare for their upcoming 2020/21 Premier League campaign.
