LFC Daytrippers and 90Min contributor Grizz Khan has been discussing Paris Saint-Germain’s apparent interest in Mohamed Salah during a recent edition of the Liverpool-focused podcast.

According to Khan’s own information, the Parisian giants have ‘made an enquiry’, exploring the possibility of signing the winger this summer.

When asked about the Ligue 1 club’s rumoured enquiry with regards to the player’s availability, here is what Khan had to say:

“My info is, PSG made an enquiry. They’re the kind of club that can flex their [financial] muscle, but it was flatly denied in terms of, ‘he’s not for sale, thank you very much’, and that was the end of that. But it’s possibly one to keep an eye on for next season, in my opinion.”

Salah joined Liverpool in 2017 from Italian side Roma for a fee of £37.8m (as per Transfermarkt.co.uk). Since arriving at Anfield, Salah has made 152 appearances for the Reds scoring, 94 goals and providing his teammates with 41 assists. The winger won the Premier League Golden Boot in both the 2017/18 and 2018/19 seasons. Salah also scored in Liverpool’s UEFA Champions League final triumph over Tottenham Hotspur back in 2019.

This season, the former Chelsea man helped the Reds secure their first Premier League title, along with their FIFA Club World Cup final victory against Flamengo and the Reds’ UEFA Super Cup glory at the expense of Chelsea. The attacker finished this season with 19 Premier League goals, only behind Raheem Sterling, Danny Ings, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Jamie Vardy (as per BBC Sport).

2018/19 season quiz: How many points did Jurgen Klopp's side accumulate in the Premier League?

TIF Thoughts…

Salah is currently valued at £108m, has another three years remaining on his contract (as per Transfermarkt.co.uk) and according to Khan, the Merseysiders have no intention of selling one of their star players.

Do you think there is a possibility Salah could leave next summer?

Yes

Yes

No

No

He didn’t, however, rule out the possibility of the 28-year-old swapping Liverpool for Paris next season. In our view, given the success he has enjoyed at the club so far, we can’t see the player wanting to leave Anfield anytime soon unless he falls out of favour.
