2018/19 season quiz: How many points did Jurgen Klopp's side accumulate in the Premier League?

Rudd talked about other things relating to Liverpool, but she spent quite a bit of time on the Bayern Munich midfielder, who looks set to leave the newly-crowned Champions League winners.

It seems as if Rudd thinks that if Liverpool manage to sign Thiago, he could make a big difference for the Reds.

She said: “I can just picture those occasionally stodgy games where Liverpool come up against a team that just decides it wants to defend, defend, defend.

“I think he might be the ideal cog in midfield to take control and find the pass or find that run out of a congested midfield because his close control is superb.

“I also love his demeanour, I like the fact he looks really serious, and like he means business, I think he would bring an aura.”

TIF Thoughts…

It is claimed that Bayern want £27m for the 29-year-old who is valued at £43.2m by Transfermarkt, so the Reds would be getting a serious bargain if they were to do that deal.

In the Champions League final, he was superb as he turned in a 7.48 rating and also played a huge role in the winning goal as he played a delightful pass to Joshua Kimmich that ended up with Kingsley Coman heading in at the far post.

Bayern have confirmed that Thiago will leave, and for just £27m the Reds could be getting a great signing; however, there are reports that Arsenal are interested, so we will have to see what happens.

It is clear, though, that Rudd thinks the 29-year-old would be the perfect addition for Jurgen Klopp’s side.
