Fans of Leeds United have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relayed the news that Leeds midfielder Kalvin Phillips has been called up to the next England squad.
The post, which was shared by the official Leeds United Twitter account, contained a link to an article regarding the 24-year-old on club’s website, which said that ‘Phillips could become the first United player to feature for the Three Lions since Alan Smith’ back in 2004, while the tweet stated: “Congrats to #LUFC midfielder Kalvin Phillips who has been called up to Gareth Southgate’s England squad.”
In reaction to the news, fans of Leeds flocked to have their say on the matter, with many claiming that Phillips deserves the call up following his impressive performances for the club during the 2019/20 season, which saw the Whites earn promotion to the Premier League, meaning that they will end a 16-year absence from the top-flight.
