Gavin Doyle, Gar Breen, Keith Plunkett and Sean Lawson discussed all things Liverpool on the latest edition of LFC Daytrippers’ Transfer Agenda Show, during which the panel spent some time talking about Divock Origi.

Origi has been a Liverpool player since joining the club from Ligue 1 side Lille back in July 2014 for £11.37m. The forward has made a total of 140 appearances for the Reds during his time at the club, scoring 34 goals and providing 12 assists.

The Belgium international has scored some important goals for the Reds during Jurgen Klopp’s tenure, however, during this recent edition of the LFC Daytrippers’ Transfer Agenda Show, Lawson shared that he believes the £14.4m-rated 25-year-old should be sold.

The podcaster said: “Personally, I’d sell Origi and keep Brewster. We’ve seen Origi’s ceiling. Origi has been great for us at times, he’s scored some massive goals, but in my opinion, there’s no room for sentiment in football.

“Origi is not going to get any better for Liverpool than he is now. I would sell Origi and bring in Brewster in his position.”

TIF Thoughts…

So, it appears that Lawson believes that there may not be room at Anfield for both Origi and 20-year-old Brewster, who has made just three senior appearances for the Reds thus far in his career and spent some time on loan at Championship side Swansea City earlier this year.

It may be understandable why the podcaster would choose Brewster over the 25-year-old, considering that the Englishman is five years younger than Origi and the likes of Klopp and Reds legend Steven Gerrard have ‘spoken highly’ of his potential, as per TalkSPORT.

However, Origi does have experience on his side and the Belgian forward has proven that he can score important goals for the Reds, so it may still be a risk for the Merseyside club to sell him.
