2018/19 season quiz: How many points did Jurgen Klopp's side accumulate in the Premier League?

On the subject of Elliott, Pearce had this to say on the teenager.

He said: “[Jurgen] Klopp has given the players three weeks off yet Harvey Elliott is only taking two weeks, because he’s going to spend that third week training with the U23s at the academy because he wants to make sure that when pre-season starts at Melwood on August 15th, that he’s in the best possible shape to force his way into Klopp’s plans, and I’m sure he’ll have one eye on that Community Shield at Wembley two weeks later because he’ll be desperate to be a part of that.”

The 17-year-old signed to the Merseyside club back in the 2019 summer transfer window from Fulham. Since then, the winger has gone on to make 13 appearances for the Liverpool U23s in which he has managed to score three goals and provide four assists.

For the Liverpool senior team, Elliott, who is currently valued at £3.24 million, has made eight appearances but has yet to score himself a goal or provide an assist for his teammates.

TIF Thoughts…

It’s very good to hear that the Englishman is willing to give up a week of his holidays to get back into training and prepare himself so he can be ready to force his way into Jurgen Klopp’s side next year. This shows that he is a hard-working player and is dedicated to making a name for himself at the Merseyside club.

It will be interesting to see if Klopp will give Elliott a chance to prove himself in the Reds’ upcoming Community Shield clash with Arsenal later this month.
