Since joining Palace from Everton in what was reported to be an £8 million deal last summer, the midfielder went on to make 33 appearances for the Eagles in the top flight last term, scoring no goals and providing no assists, averaging a rather disappointing WhoScored match rating of 6.42.
Would you like to see Celtic make a move for McCarthy this summer?
Yes
No
And it would seem that, in stark comparison to the previous comments, these Celtic fans are firmly against the club making a move for the 29-year-old over the transfer window.
We awready have better! Even a 35 year old brown is better! 4 seasons ago a woulda took the chance! Not now

James McCarthy is this decade’s James McFadden. It’ll never happen.

From their comments, it would seem like these Celtic fans are relatively split as to whether they would be happy with their club signing McCarthy this summer.
However, whether or not a deal actually is offered to Palace by the Hoops, we will have to wait and see.
