LFC Daytrippers contributor Grizz Khan has been discussing some of the players he believes the club are looking to move on this summer and what he believes to be the case with regards to the interest in them during a recent edition of the podcast.

Although Harry Wilson, Xherdan Shaqiri and Marko Grujic have all been linked with permanent moves away from Anfield, Khan revealed that the interest in the trio hasn’t been what the club’s hierarchy might have hoped.

He told the panel: “According to my source, we haven’t had a single bid for the likes of Wilson, Grujic [or] Shaqiri.”

2018/19 season quiz: How many points did Jurgen Klopp's side accumulate in the Premier League?

Wilson spent last season on loan at Bournemouth, the £15.75m-rated winger made 31 Premier League appearances, scoring seven goals in what proved to be a disappointing campaign for Eddie Howe’s former side as they were relegated.

Grujic has also returned to Merseyside having played 29 times in the Bundesliga for Hertha Berlin last season, he is valued at £13.05m but for now, at least, he remains a Liverpool player.

As for Shaqiri, he was part of Jurgen Klopp’s squad last season but the 28-year-old made just seven top-flight appearances for the Reds and it is thought the club are hoping to move the Swiss international on this summer.

TIF Thoughts…

It remains to be seen whether Liverpool strengthening further this summer is dependent on them offloading the aforementioned players. It is also unknown whether or not there would be concrete interest in the trio had the recent global pandemic not impacted a number of clubs financially.

The current transfer window still has until October to run so there is still plenty of time for the players to be sold on and so it feels a little early to be panicking about the perceived lack of interest.
