Leeds United fans on Twitter have been reacting to a transfer rumour which suggests that Chelsea have offered Marcelo Bielsa’s side the chance to sign Michy Batshuayi.
According to HLN (via Simon Phillips), the Stamford Bridge outfit have offered Marcelo Bielsa’s side the chance to sign the Belgian international for €25 million (£22.6 million) this summer. It is suggested in the report that the newly-promoted Whites are considering whether or not he fits in their spending budget.
The 26-year-old signed for Chelsea from Marseille in 2016 but has made just 77 appearances for the first-team since; contributing 25 goals and six assists (per Transfermarkt). The forward has also spent several seasons out on loan, with the likes of Borussia Dortmund, Valencia, and most recently, Crystal Palace (per Transfermarkt).

Would be great if it could be a loan to buy so the risk is a lot lower in case the season doesn’t go as planned

Plenty of Leeds fans seem excited by the potential signing of Batshuayi.
Fine player, I’d take him in a heartbeat…..not for that money however, particularly with a year left on his contract.

Ooooooooh, I think if we get him for 18-20 million i think that’s an absolute lovely bit of business but I think 25 is a little too steep.

However, some Leeds fans seem to feel that the asking price is slightly too high.
Not at that price. Waaaaaay too much!
