Fans of Leeds United have been reacting to a post on Twitter, in which Phil Hay relays comments made by Rangers boss Steven Gerrard on Leeds’ reported £10 million bid for Ryan Kent.
It was reported on Friday that Rangers had ‘strongly rejected‘ a £10 million bid from Marcelo Bielsa’s side for the player whom Rangers signed from Liverpool in a £6.48 million deal last summer.
In a post shared by the official Rangers Twitter account, Gerrard stated: “We want the player to stay here, as do the board. The fans love him also and Leeds will need to respect that, they need to really think hard if they want to come in again. I have spoken to Ryan and he is totally focused on the match tomorrow.”
After Phil Hay quote-tweeted the comments of the Rangers boss, fans of Leeds flocked to have their say on the matter, with many of them warning Gerrard and Rangers to know their place.

So message from Gerrard is ‘he’s not for sale. But that’s way too low. But that doesn’t matter because we wanna keep him. But you need to bid higher than that. But it’s irrelevant because he’s staying. But that’s too low. But he’s staying. But seriously, bid higher.’

For me whether a bid is too low it’s not proper practice to name the club that have bidded is it? There is SG talking about respect yet @RangersFC are showing none towards #lufc

Since joining Rangers, originally on a loan deal before the club made it a permanent move last summer, Kent has featured 80 times for the Ibrox club, scoring 16 goals and providing 13 assists.
This season, the 23-year-old has got off to a flyer, scoring two goals over his four appearances in the Scottish Premiership, averaging a highly impressive WhoScored match rating of 7.55 – ranking him as the club’s fourth-best performer in the league so far.
Are you pleased to read that Leeds have made a bid for Ryan Kent?
Yes
No
However, despite this impressive start, many Leeds fans appear to be fine with the idea of Kent staying at Rangers.
If we offer 10m for someone who couldn’t get a game at Bristol we must be mad

Really seems like we have no idea what we’re doing in the transfer market

Got to agree. If Kent doesn’t want to come to Leeds then I don’t want him ????? Let him stay there!

I’m staggered why we’ve put a bid in for him! That’s if we have? Poveda is better and he’s on our bench

From their comments, then, it would appear that some of these Leeds fans would be more than happy with Kent remaining at Rangers rather than making the move down south to Leeds, while others have taken aim at Gerrard’s comments, claiming that he is not showing respect to Leeds.
However, with Bielsa apparently a fan of Kent, as is seen by the reported £10 million offer for the player, we do not expect this deal to go away just yet.
