Fans of Leeds United have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays the news that Alfie McCalmont has signed a new four-year deal with the club.
A statement on the club website read: “Leeds United are pleased to announce Alfie McCalmont has signed a new contract with the club. The midfielder has signed a four-year deal to remain at Elland Road, running until the summer of 2024.”
After the news was then relayed on Twitter by the official club account, fans of Leeds flocked to have their say on the matter, with many stating their delight, while others claimed that McCalmont has an extremely bright future ahead of him.

Although the 19-year-old has made just two senior appearances for the club, both of which came in the EFL Cup last season, the club stated that the midfielder has been a ‘regular for the U23s over the past two seasons’, as well as featuring ‘regularly in Marcelo Bielsa’s matchday squad’ throughout the club’s Championship-winning campaign.

As can be seen from their comments, the news of McCalmont’s new contract at the club as gone down extremely well with these Leeds supporters.
Now that the deal is done, Leeds fans can look forward to the 19-year-old working his way into Marcelo Bielsa’s first-team plans, and perhaps even catch sight of him during the club’s Premier League campaign next term.
