Leeds United YouTuber Conor McGilligan has been sharing his thoughts on a potential summer transfer move for Liverpool winger Harry Wilson.

This comes after McGilligan shared a video on his Leeds-themed YouTube channel ‘In Full Swing‘, where he spoke about a range of transfer rumours concerning Marcelo Bielsa’s side at the moment.

Starting with an easy one how many points did Leeds end the season with?

On the subject of Wilson, who has been linked with a move to Elland Road in recent weeks, McGilligan shared his thoughts on this potential move.

He said: “Coming into Leeds, he is someone who is a young lad, I think he’d be able to prosper under Bielsa. I think he’d add so much to his game under Bielsa – and imagine him just in the Premier League in that CAM [central attacking-midfield] role learning off the wizard, the magician, that is Pablo Hernandez.

“You look at someone like David Silva and Phil Foden, that’s what they’ve had all year. Just that relationship, that cohesiveness, Foden knowing that Silva is going to be baying out at the end of the season. This could be Pablo Hernandez’s swansong, could we get him in and then Harry Wilson – no ego, no ‘I’m better than the club’, get him in there, learn off Pablo Hernandez. How wonderful would that be? I think that would just be the perfect combination for Leeds United.”

After playing his way through the youth system at Liverpool, Wilson has had loan spells at Crewe Alexandra, Hull City, Derby County and most recently, AFC Bournemouth.

In his recent loan spell at Bournemouth, the 23-year-old, who is currently valued at £15.75 million, made 35 appearances for the Cherries across all competitions in which he managed to score seven goals and provide two assists throughout the 2019/20 season (per Transfermarkt).

TIF Thoughts…

With Wilson getting a full season of Premier League experience under his belt at Bournemouth last season, this could potentially make him a clever buy for Leeds if they manage to take him away from Liverpool this summer.

It will be interesting to see if Leeds do sign Wilson this summer and if he then does start to form an on-pitch relationship with Pablo Hernandez.
