The Athletic reporter Greg O’Keeffe has been discussing the possibility of Richarlison leaving Everton this summer and has cast his doubt over a departure.

In the 2019/20 Premier League season, the Brazilian forward was in solid form for the Toffees, bagging 13 goals and three assists in 36 top-flight appearances (per WhoScored).

However, in a recent interview with Globo Esporte (via Liverpool Echo), the 23-year-old attacker cast doubt over his future at Goodison Park by saying he can “hold on for another season” with Everton but if an offer was made for him he would “sit down and talk”.

So, in the latest episode of the All Together Now Podcast, O’Keeffe shared his thoughts on whether the forward will leave the club this summer.

He said: “Obviously, we’re naturally concentrating on who’s coming in, because that’s what we desperately need, and what we desperately don’t need is to lose either of our two best players, if you like, in terms of Lucas Digne and Richarlison.

“I don’t think we will, [I] certainly don’t think we’d lose Richarlison. I don’t think there’d be any countenance of selling him, no matter what sort of bid.

“Despite the fact we were all probably a little bit of an eyebrow raised when we read his comments last week to Globo Esporte in Brazil about being asked to stay but if a massive offer came in, I’m paraphrasing it but you know, we’d see what we do, but I think he’ll give Everton at least another season.”

TIF Thoughts…

Seemingly, the journalist believes that Richarlison will be with the Toffees for the 2020/21 season despite comments from the player that he would “sit down and talk” with other clubs.

Considering that the Brazilian has four years left on his contract with Everton and a market value of £46.8m (per Transfermarkt), it does seem likely that the Toffees would receive a hefty fee if the attacker did leave Goodison Park this summer.

However, with the forward having been Carlo Ancelotti’s best-performing player in the league in the 2019/20 season, it is clear to see why O’Keeffe believes Everton should keep him “no matter what sort of bid” comes in.
