This comes after Morgan recently hosted an episode of The Villa Filler Podcast from a Villa-focused YouTube channel called Heart of The Holte.

In this 2019/20 season quiz, do you remember who scored Villa's first PL goal of the season?

After it was recently reported by Italian media outlet La Repubblica (via Birmingham Mail) that Villa and fellow Premier League side West Ham United have enquired about the possibility of signing Higuain this summer, Morgan shared his thoughts on the matter.

He said: “If you look at his career and where he’s played, he’s roughly getting one in three, which isn’t a bad record really, you know, everybody knows what Higuain is about, he’s a poacher, he’s a fox in the box. He’s not very mobile, [he’s] not going to move a lot, [but] he is a Scudetto winner, he is a La Liga winner. When you’re talking about serial winners, this guy has won it all and it’s an exciting link for sure but I mean, I was saying it to you last night, and I know you disagree with me, I’m just not sure it would work.”

Juventus manager Andrea Pirlo recently revealed that Higuain, who is currently valued at £13.5 million, will leave the Italian club this summer claiming that the “cycle is over” for him at the club.

In the 2019 January transfer window, Higuain joined Chelsea on loan from Juventus until the end of the 2018/19 season. During his spell in England, the striker made 18 appearances for the London club but only managed to find the back of the net five times and failed to provide even one assist (per Transfermarkt).

TIF Thoughts…

Despite the impressive list of honours that Higuain has won over the years, as well as the fact that he does have some Premier League experience under his belt, we feel that his goals and assists record from his time at Chelsea was not good enough to warrant the Villans signing the 32-year-old this summer, especially when you consider that Higuain reportedly earns a whopping £6.7m per year at Juventus and that salary is more than triple the amount that any players in Villa’s current squad reportedly earn.
