In this 2019/20 season quiz, do you remember who scored Villa's first PL goal of the season?

On the topic of Benrahma, who has been linked with a move to Villa Park, Stokes shared his thoughts on the winger and a potential move for him in the coming weeks.

He said: “I think you’re talking 25, 30, 35 million for this guy, he is just incredible. I’ve been to watch Brentford a few times this season and he is just something that we don’t have. He’s so skilful, I know Jack [Grealish] can dribble and keep the ball really close to his feet and Benrahma is quite similar to that, but his skill is something that I’ve just not seen. It’s incredible.

“His agility, the way he’s able to turn on the ball is just amazing and he can just create a chance from absolutely nothing and I think Jack Grealish is the real only creative outlet we’ve got in the squad, so I think if you can add to that, 100%, get it done, get Said Benrahma in my club now.”

The 25-year-old signed to the Championship club back in the 2018 summer transfer window from OGC Nice for a fee of £1.53 million.

Since then, the Algerian has made a total of 91 appearances, in which he has scored 28 goals and provided 27 assists along the way.

The 2019/20 season saw Benrahma in top form for Thomas Frank’s side, scoring 17 goals and providing nine assists in 46 total appearances throughout the season.

Benrahma’s performances earned him a season rating of 7.49/10, making him Brentford’s highest-rated player for the 2019/20 league campaign (per WhoScored).

TIF Thoughts…

Considering Villa have been interested in Benrahma since last summer and taking into account the incredible season the winger has had for Brentford recently, it would make sense that Villa would still be interested in signing Benrahma this summer.

It will be interesting to see if Villa formally reignite their interest in Benrahma in the coming weeks and whether or not they will manage to finally sign the player.
