Sheffield Wednesday journalist Dom Howson has made a claim on Owls midfielder Kieran Lee and his future at the club.

This comes after Howson recently made an appearance on Wednesday-themed podcast Singing The Blues to talk about a variety of subjects related to the club.

We will look at Marcelo Bielsa to kick off this quiz on the Championship's managers, which of these national teams has the Leeds United boss managed?

On the topic of Lee, Howson had this to say on the 32-year-old.

He said: “I do think that Kieran Lee – I think we have to bid a fond farewell to him, and I don’t think that central midfield is a priority for Wednesday.”

Lee signed to Wednesday back in 2012 on a free transfer from Oldham Athletic. Since then, the midfielder has gone on to make 217 appearances for the Owls, in which he has managed to score 22 goals and provide 15 assists along the way.

The 2019/20 Championship season saw Lee make 28 league appearances for the Owls in which he provided three assists, but failed to grab himself a goal.

Lee’s performances in those 28 league appearances earned him a season rating of 6.49/10, ranking him joint-15th as the Owls’ highest-rated player in the campaign for the players who started more than one match for the club (per WhoScored).

TIF Thoughts…

It’s a shame that Howson thinks that now is the right time for Wednesday to let Lee, who is valued at £360k (as per Transfermarkt), leave the club after spending eight years there.

However, his rather uninspiring season rating for the previous campaign may be a signal that now could be the right time to move him on this summer.
