Starting with an easy one how many points did Leeds end the season with?

After it was recently reported in The Telegraph that Leeds will “turn their attention” to signing Koch if they fail to sign Brighton & Hove Albion defender Ben White this summer, McGilligan shared his thoughts on this potential move.

He said: “[Koch is] only 24 years of age, a little bit more experienced than Ben White, but is that something that we have to look at? I think this guy could be a real, real player. [He’s] 6ft 3, as I’ve said before, could help us defensively of course, and defensively on set-piece situations. So Robin Koch looks like a real, real goer and I think it’s something that Leeds will definitely be pursuing if this Ben White deal doesn’t get done.”

Koch signed to Freiburg back in 2017 for a fee of £3.6 million from FC Kaiserslautern. Since then, the 24-year-old, who is currently valued at £15.3 million, has made a total of 87 appearances for the German club in which he has scored five goals and provided two assists for his teammates (per Transfermarkt).

In the 2019/20 Bundesliga season, Koch made a total of 32 league appearances for the club in which he earned himself a season rating of 6.73/10 (per WhoScored).

TIF Thoughts…

With Leeds having two bids for Ben White rejected by Brighton in recent weeks, the Yorkshire club could well move on and target Koch instead as a potentially cheaper defensive option for the club to bring in this summer.
