According to recent reports, Leeds United – as well as Brighton & Hove Albion, West Ham United and West Bromwich Albion – are interested in a summer move for Brentford left-back, Rico Henry.
The reports by the Daily Mail state that the 23-year-old is attracting interest from a host of Premier League clubs, including Leeds United, following a fine season with his West London side in the Championship.
And a fine season it was indeed. Over his 49 appearances in the Championship and the Championship play-offs, Henry, who is valued at £1.8 million (as per Transfermarkt), registered three assists, as well as 1.5 tackles, 1.1 interceptions, 1.9 clearances and 0.7 key passes per game, culminating in an average WhoScored match rating of 6.83 – ranking him as the club’s ninth-best performer.
Since his move from Walsall for a £1.62 million fee back in 2016, the defender has gone on to feature 87 times for the Bees, scoring one goal and providing six assists.
However, if the reports are to be believed, there is a great deal of interest in the 23-year-old, meaning that he may not be at the club a great deal longer.
TIF Thoughts…
Considering the fact that Leeds currently have Ezgjan Alioski, Stuart Dallas, Barry Douglas and Leif Davis currently in the first-team squad who can all operate from left-back, the argument could be made that Marcelo Bielsa’s side aren’t exactly in need for another left-back at the moment.
However, with Dallas being 29-years-old, and Douglas being 30-years-old, as well as the fact that Alioski often plays further forward in the Leeds XI, a counter-argument could be that Bielsa is keen to invest in a more youthful option in the position.

Whether Leeds’ reported interest develops into a firm offer for the player, though, remains to be seen.
