Beren Cross of Leeds Live has been discussing the reports linking Chelsea’s Michy Batshuayi with a move to Elland Road this summer during a recent Q&A session with the club’s supporters.

According to Get French Football News (via The Sun), the 26-year-old has been offered to the Whites by his agent.

Starting with an easy one how many points did Leeds end the season with?

The Belgian striker joined the Blues back in July 2016 in a deal reportedly worth £35.1m, but having found himself out of favour, he has been sent on loan spells to Borussia Dortmund, Valencia and Crystal Palace (as per Transfermarkt.co.uk).

Batshuayi made 16 appearances in the Premier League last season, scoring just once – but are Marcelo Bielsa’s side interested in the international forward?

In response to a supporter’s question, here is what Cross had to say on the matter: ‘I found the Batshuayi rumour interesting, but it doesn’t fit with any of the information we are getting from the club. He shares an agent with [Jean-Kevin] Augustin if that thickens the plot for you…’

TIF Thoughts…

According to Transfermarkt.co.uk, the player is currently valued at £12.6m, which means his stock has depreciated significantly since he initially made his move to the Premier League approximately four years ago.

Given his form last season, unless Chelsea are willing to move him out for significantly less, we believe signing him would be the kind of risk Leeds United may not be able to afford to take in their first season back in the English top flight.
